We've finally made it, Titans fans. After one of the most action-packed summers in recent franchise memory, the entirely rebuilt Tennessee Titans play football today. Robert Saleh's coaching debut with the baby blue and white will come in his former home out west tonight against the San Francisco 49ers, and it does so on the heels of a heated joint practice between the two teams.

Between some thrown punches and plenty of words exchanged, the energy is already at a boiling point between the Titans and 49ers. Tonight, in live competition, we'll get to watch that fuel turn into fire. When the bout kicks off, there are more than a few key factors to keep an eye on.

But to keep an eye on anything in tonight's matchup, you'll have to tune in and watch it first.

When and Where to Watch Titans vs. 49ers

Tennessee's debut matchup on Thursday, Aug. 13, will air from the jump on WKRN Channel 2 in Nashville, at 8 p.m. CT. NFL Network will then join the game in progress an hour later, at 9 p.m.

The matchup taking place in California is bad luck for the average viewer's sleep schedule, but what else are we to do at the very beginning of the season? Any way you can watch, tune in for the technical first game of an entirely new era.

Robert Saleh confirmed that he'll play the Titans starters for more than a series against the 49ers, which means we'll get complete looks at the team's primary unit going forward, on both sides of the ball.

On the whole, this is an opportunity to see what Tennessee is made of in their current state. Much can change as the year goes on, but even a prolonged stint in a preseason game like this one can serve as a solid litmus test as to where this group's potential stands.

The Cam to Carnell Connection

Within the starting squad more specifically, everyone will have a thumb on the connection between Cam Ward and Carnell Tate. This duo is positioned as the future of Titans football, and the flashes they showed in Tennessee's blue and white scrimmage was enough to send Titans fans into a frenzy online.

Being their first chance to compete together in an actual game, the tether between Ward and Tate will be properly tested under the spotlight against San Francisco.

A Backup Receiver Battle

Finally, once the starters give way to some of the guys vying for bigger roles (or even a roster spot), we'll get to see Tennessee's bastion of backup receivers battle it out for expanded touches.

In addition to the obviously anticipated Xavier Restrepo, both KJ Osborn and Bryce Oliver should get the opportunity to prove themselves worthy of a rotation spot in the preseason opener. Who comes in behind Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike?
