Manchester City must quickly put a discouraging Community Shield outing behind them as they start their Premier League campaign at home to Bournemouth on Sunday.

An incomplete City team now led by Enzo Maresca was put to the sword by the swaggering Premier League champions, who cruised to a 3–0 victory in Cardiff. Maresca’s team struggled to lay a glove on Arsenal, except for a flurry towards the end of the first half, and also looked concerningly frail defensively.

Maresca insisted his team will learn from the defeat, and they’ll be tested by a Bournemouth side poised for a novel 2026–27 campaign. A sixth-place finish last season means the Cherries have the Europa League to look forward to, but new manager Marco Rose must first ensure he oversees a strong start to their domestic campaign.

Bournemouth’s record at the Etihad Stadium is dire, and never before has a new Premier League manager won on debut at Man City’s fortress.

Here’s how to tune into Sunday’s Premier League clash around the world.
