New Orleans' own, SI99 WR Destyn Hill Chooses Florida State

Louisiana baller leaps from the Boot to the Panhandle, committing to Florida State University

Destyn Hill is a 6-foot, 200-pound pass-catcher from Edna Karr High School down in New Orleans, LA. Hill announced early Wednesday that he will be playing his college football at Florida State University as a Seminole.

Hill, a 2019 4A Lousianna state champ, will be learning under the tutelage of FSU receiver coaches Ron Dugans, who also played his collegiate ball in Tallahassee.

Despite the majority of his reps coming at outside wide receiver, we think his highest ceiling is in the slot with a two-way go. He's a physically gifted receiver and always has a plan with his releases, something essential to a position that has to consistently beat jamming-cornerbacks at the start of a play.

Hill decided to take his talents to Florida State after considering USC, Oklahoma, and Florida amongst others. As a 200-pound high school receiver, Hill comes with a short instruction manual. We don't think it will be long before he sees the field for Florida State. FSU was second to last in the ACC in passing yards per game. There will be a sense of urgency to get a talent like Hill on the field ASAP, given his well-established base level of physicality.

Florida State may finish outside the top 25 classes in the team rankings, but Hill was ranked No. 77 in our SI99 national prospect rankings
