The Los Angeles Angels made a roster move on their off-day on Monday, reinstating right-hander Ryan Zeferjahn from the 15-day injured list and optioning left-hander Sammy Peralta.

Zeferjahn spent just one day above the minimum on the injured list, as the Angels originally placed him on the IL on Sept. 6 with right knee tendinitis.

The 2025 season is the 27-year-old's first full MLB year, and he has a 4.77 ERA through 59 games so far. He has struck out 72 batters through 54.2 innings this season.

He originally came up to the majors in 2024, featuring 12 times towards the latter end of the season and posting a 2.12 ERA in the process.

As for Peralta, he came up to the majors on Sept. 7, just one day after Zeferjahn landed on the IL. He pitched in four games, allowing nine runs through 9.2 innings for a 8.38 ERA.

The right-hander was a midseason pickup for the Halos, who signed him to a minor league deal in May. He previously pitched in MLB for the Chicago White Sox in both 2023 and 2024, and had never been credited with a loss before this season. He had a 4.05 ERA in 2023 through 16 games, and a 4.80 ERA in 2024 through nine games.

The Angels will be glad to have a key reliever return ahead of the end of the season, as they are rather bare as far as depth in their bullpen goes. They are also without Reid Detmers, Robert Stephenson, Andrew Chafin, Hunter Strickland and Carson Fulmer due to injury.

They will hope the addition of Zeferjahn is enough to help them return to winning ways, as they just dropped all three series on a 10-game road trip, including a three-game set against the Colorado Rockies, who have the worst record in baseball. After their rest day Monday, they'll return to action against the Kansas City Royals at home on Tuesday.

The opening game of their season-ending, six-game homestead begins Tuesday at 6:38 p.m. PT. The Angels host the Kansas City Royals for three games, before welcoing in the division rival Houston Astros, who they'll look to play spoiler against.
