The Houston Astros have had an up-and-down week but now head to Arlington to face the Texas Rangers for the first time since they met in the American League Championship Series last October at Minute Maid Park.

That was Game 7, when the Astros lost to the Rangers, a loss that ended the Astros’ 2022 World Series title defense and fueled the Rangers’ run to the 2023 World Series title.

The last time the Astros were at Globe Life Field, however, was Game 5, where the Astros won, 5-4. Jose Altuve hit a three-run home run to lift the Astros to the victory. The Astros won all three playoff games against the Rangers in Arlington, but the Rangers won all four games in Houston.

The Astros do have reliever Bryan Abreu back. He was suspended for the first two games of the season after he hit Rangers outfielder Adolis García with a pitch in Game 6, which followed an incident at the plate between García and former Astros catcher Martin Maldonado in Game 5.

The Astros (2-5) are coming off a first week in which they were swept at home by the New York Yankees, followed by winning two out of three from the Toronto Blue Jays, which included Ronel Blanco’s first career no-hitter in his first start of the season.

Here is the preview for the game, with probable pitchers, starting lineups, how to watch and listen, injury updates and more.
