Spencer Strider is the fastest pitcher to 100 strikeouts in a season since 1893

The Braves righthander is absolutely mowing down opposing hitters, at a record pace

We all know Spencer Strider is really good at racking up strikeouts.

But did you know it's a historic pace?

Strider got Nick Castellanos looking for his third strikeout of the fourth inning, which represented his 100th strikeout of the season.

Strider got his 100th strikeout in just 61 innings, making him the fastest to the milestone since 1893. The previous record holder was Jacob DeGrom, who achieved the feat in 61.2 innings in 2021.

Strider went on to strike out the side in order in the 3rd, sitting down Castellanos, Kyle Schwarber, and JT Realmuto.
