The Los Angeles Dodgers appear to have replaced Chris Taylor's locker with one for right-hander Lou Trivino, per The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya.

Trivino's contract was recently selected after Kirby Yates made his way to the injured list after recent speculation the veteran reliever would start a stint there.

During Saturday evening's defeat to the Los Angeles Angels, Yates had to exit early due to hamstring tightness. Before the early exit, Yates gave up a three-run home run to Angels catcher Logan O’Hoppe.

After the defeat, manager Dave Roberts spoke about a possible IL stint. The bad news came true as the right-hander is now the 14th Dodgers. pitcher on the IL

“The assessment early is a grade 1 hamstring,” Roberts said. “I don’t see how it’s not an IL. We’ll see how he comes in tomorrow, but I could see it as an IL. No imaging yet. I think that’s tomorrow.”

As for Trivino, he was recently waived by the rival San Francisco Giants and inked a minor-league contract with the Dodgers last week. His ERA was hovering at 5.84 in San Francisco, a bit of a jump from his career 3.86 mark from 2018 to the end of the 2022 campaign.

A Tommy John surgery sidelined him for all of 2023, and he made 11 minor league appearances in 2024 in the New York Yankees organization.

The right-hander's rocky start to 2025 wasn't enough to stay in the Bay Area, but he will now be stepping up for a hampered Dodgers bullpen that needs healthy and productive arms at the moment.

Trivino's sole Triple-A appearances for the Dodgers saw just one inning pitched with a pair of strikeouts. With no more time to ramp up in the minor leagues due to Yates heading to the injured list, the 33-year-old reliever is set to get significant time out of the bullpen and will hope to step up in the All-Star's absence.
