On Tuesday, the Philadelphia 76ers made their latest roster move official.

Sixers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey announced that the team was bringing Darius Bazley up to the main roster on a 10-day contract.

Since the beginning stage of the NBA G League 2023-2024 season, Bazley has been playing for the Sixers’ affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats.

In a G League transaction between the Blue Coats and the Milwaukee Bucks’ affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, Bazley was sent to the Blue Coats in exchange for a 2024 first-round pick.

After being one of a handful of standouts on the Blue Coats, Bazley became the first player to land a 10-day contract with the 76ers this season.

Bazley appeared in 18 regular season games with the Blue Coats this year. He’s averaging 20 points, nine rebounds, and four assists, while draining 47 percent of his shots from the field. On the defensive end, Bazley has been good for 1.2 steals per game, and 2.3 blocks per game.

This year serves as Bazley’s first run in the G League. In the past, the former first-round pick has had runs with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Phoenix Suns. In total, Bazley has 228 NBA games under his belt, including 118 starts. Throughout his career, Bazley has averaged nine points and five rebounds, while shooting 41 percent from the field.

Having NBA experience already will surely play into his favor. When the Sixers return from the All-Star break to face the New York Knicks on Thursday, Bazley should be available to make his debut if Nick Nurse can find some minutes for him in the rotation.
