Sixers Downgrade Kyle Lowry vs. Pistons on Tuesday

After resting over the weekend, Kyle Lowry remains on the Philadelphia 76ers' injury report against the Pistons on Tuesday.

As the Philadelphia 76ers prepared for a Sunday night matchup against the San Antonio Spurs, the team ruled out its starting guard, Kyle Lowry.

There was no reason to worry, as Lowry’s absence was simply due to rest.

Going into their Tuesday night matchup against the Detroit Pistons, Lowry remains on the injury report. However, he’s now labeled with an actual injury diagnosis this time around.

It appears Lowry is dealing with an effusion in his left knee. As a result, Lowry was questionable to play against the Pistons on Tuesday night.

The fact that Lowry hasn’t been ruled out right away is obviously a positive sign for the Sixers, as it makes it clear that he’s not dealing with a setback that is significant.

At this point in the season, the Sixers are making sure they are as healthy as possible as the regular season is winding down.

Tuesday’s game against the Pistons marks the start of the final week of the regular season. Typically, the Sixers are locked in with a ticket to the playoffs at this point, but this year is different.

After missing the star center Joel Embiid for a large chunk of the season, the Sixers struggled to find their identity in his absence. As a result, they are currently standing in the Play-In Tournament picture in the Eastern Conference.

Recently, the Sixers moved up in the standings. After their win against the Spurs on Sunday, the Sixers improved to the seventh seed. Not only are they holding home-court advantage, but the Sixers’ hopes of collecting the sixth-seed is still in play.

The Sixers will get a chance to build on their current win streak against the Pistons on Tuesday. They'll have to do so without Lowry, who has been ruled out for the second-straight game.
