Bucks Make Massive Roster Move Amid Free Agency

The Milwaukee Bucks have made a massive roster move as free agency continues.

The Bucks have waived yet another guard on the roster, veteran Vasilije Micic.

The Milwaukee Bucks waived Damian Lillard and Vasilije Micić today.

Micić gave back $6.1M in a buyout with the Bucks, a league source says. His cap hit will shrink from $8.1M to $2M and Micić will be able to pursue other opportunities.

Micic was traded to the Bucks as part of the Pat Connaughton trade in July. The deal sent Connaughton and two second-round picks to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Micic.

The veteran point guard is now expected to weigh his options in both the NBA and overseas.

Micic, 31, split the 2024-25 season between the Charlotte Hornets and Phoenix Suns. Across 41 games, he averaged 6.6 points, 3.9 assists, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.5 steals per contest while shooting 34.8 percent from the field and 36 percent from beyond the arc.

He saw the bulk of his action in Charlotte, appearing in 36 games with the Hornets before a brief five-game stint with the Suns.

Micic is the second Bucks player to be waived this offseason. The first was Milwaukee All-Star guard Damian Lillard.

Lillard's waive was the most shocking move of the offseason thus far. The 34-year-old will now look for a new team, and it comes as no surprise that he is highly sought after.

The Bucks have been one of the more active teams this offseason. They have already made a flurry of movies thus far, as we are a week into free agency.
