Memphis Grizzlies Star Gets Honest About Team's Roster

In this story:
Recently signing a max contract extension to stay with the Memphis Grizzlies, Desmond Bane was asked during his press conference for his thoughts on the players the team has around him right now. Excited about what the Grizzlies are building, Bane said he loves the team.
"I love our team," Bane said. "I think we got a lot of great guys, first and foremost. A lot of guys that love basketball, and we got a lot of guys that love competing. That's what everybody wants. I think we have the pieces to do something special. Come September, I'm excited to get to work."
Bane is a rising star, and the backcourt of he and Ja Morant projects to be one of the best in the NBA next season. With his versatility, Bane can play on or off the ball, which gives the Grizzlies several lineup options they can utilize with him on the floor. While Morant serves his 25-game suspension, it's likely that Bane will take on more ball handling duties, while observing a more traditional shooting guard role once Morant returns.
Signing the largest contract in Grizzles franchise history, Bane is not putting any additional pressure on himself, understanding that the results will come if he just trusts his work. Not looking to change the approach that got him here, Bane is excited for the future in Memphis.
