Toronto Raptors Welcome New York Knicks' OG Anunoby Back With Video Tribute

OG Anunoby was warmly welcomed upon his return to Ontario, as the Toronto Raptors offered a video tribute upon the New York Knicks' visit on Wednesday.

Basketball glory days in Ontario may feel prehistoric, but Toronto Raptors fans were offered a warm reminder on Wednesday night.

The New York Knicks' visit to Scotiabank Arena afforded fans to personally thank OG Anunoby for his years of service to the franchise. During the first timeout of Wednesday's Atlantic Division showdown, a video tribute was offered to Anunoby, which can be viewed

Anunoby spent parts of his first seven seasons with the Raptors before a December trade sent him to the United States. Precious Achiuwa also came over in that deal while the Knicks sent over homegrown franchise faces RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, neither of whom played on Wednesday night due to personal reasons.

While the Knicks have had to deal with Anunoby's medical woes, namely an elbow injury that has kept him out of all but three of the past 30 games, there has been an undeniable spark when he is in the lineup, as New York is 15-2 when he dons his blue and orange uniform.

In Toronto, Anunoby averaged 11.8 points and 4.3 rebounds while leading the Association in steals during the 2022-23 season. Though medical woes kept him strapped to the sidelines, Anunoby was part of Toronto's 2019 championship run and was one of the few leftovers from that squad before the Raptors enacted a fire sale of sorts this winter. In Raptors franchise history, Anunoby currently ranks fourth in successful three-point field goals (651) and eighth in steals (487).

Behind six three-pointers from Miles McBride, the Knicks lead the Raptors 45-33 after the first period on Wednesday night.
