The Los Angeles Lakers' most recent win was a prime example of how potent their offense can be when LeBron James and Luka Doncic are playing at their best.

The pair combined for 73 points, 18 rebounds and 24 assists in the Lakers' 143-135 win over the Utah Jazz Thursday night. Doncic led the way with 45 points and the 40-year-old James finished with 28, just a point shy of his season high.

In his first full season in Los Angeles, Doncic still feels he has room to improve despite averaging the most points per game in the NBA.

"I don't think so. I think I have to play better," Doncic told ESPN's Dave McMenamin. "I feel like I can play better a lot of nights. I don't know if this is the best basketball I've played just because of points, but I feel like I can do way more stuff."

Lakers Hall of Famer James Worthy was asked to evaluate how the duo of James and Doncic has performed so far this season by NBA insider Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson.

"I've never seen a one-two punch like that and there've been some great one-two punches but none that do what they do especially, Bron at his age the way they facilitate, the way they control the game with their intelligence," Worthy told Robinson. "Luka, particularly at 27-years-old, has already propelled himself into a veteran that understands the game and knows where everyone is and knows how to make everyone around him better. It reminds me of what Magic [Johnson] used to do for us."

Robinson continued to compare the duo to James and former teammate Dwyane Wade, a pairing that brought two NBA championships to the Miami Heat.

Scott: Something's Missing for James and Doncic

With James still performing at a high level despite his age, and Doncic's role as a playmaking guard/forward hybrid, Worthy sees just one thing absent from Doncic and James' resume.

"Well the only thing missing is a championship. The numbers don’t lie, I mean LeBron’s numbers are really incredible for a 40 year old," Worthy said. "He is still putting up numbers so I say the comparison is similar but you gotta put a championship behind it."
