Which Brooklyn Net Has Best Shot at Making 2027 All-Star Game?

The Nets aren't likely to have an All-Star next season, but some names could stick out with a big year.

The Brooklyn Nets are set for another interesting season, and it could feature their return to the All-Star Game.

Next season will look quite different in Brooklyn in comparison to the past three. After spending the past few years in the midst of a rebuild, the Nets are hoping to come out on the other side of that stretch in 2027.

Without control of their first-round pick next year, the Nets will have no incentive to tank and have made some offseason moves that show they’re ready to compete for a postseason berth once again. If the Nets are going to make it back, they’ll likely need some star play to get there, which could also mean some representation from Brooklyn for the All-Star Game.

Should the Nets become a surprise team in the East early, they could be in the mix to send someone to Phoenix in February. Given the current state of the roster, there are two clear contenders for a potential All-Star spot.

After having a career year in Brooklyn last season, Michael Porter Jr. putting up similar numbers for a Brooklyn team that’s competing for a postseason spot could be enough to get him in. Averaging 24.2 points and seven rebounds last season, Porter has already proven he can perform while carrying a large load, and some better efficiency and all-around play could be enough to earn him the first All-Star selection of his career.

Of course, the most obvious choice for Brooklyn’s potential All-Star next season is someone who has already made it multiple times. Trading for Julius Randle this offseason, the former All-NBA forward has been to the All-Star Game three times, doing so most recently for the New York Knicks in 2024.

Tallying 21.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and five assists per game in Minnesota last year, Randle could see a boost to his numbers as the potential No. 1 guy in Brooklyn. If that increase in production comes alongside leading a winning team, Randle may be a near-lock to make his fourth All-Star appearance.

Beyond Randle and Porter, it seems incredibly unlikely that anyone else would be in the mix. Rookie Mikel Brown Jr. may be the next on the list, given his numbers from college, but he’ll almost certainly not be putting up All-Star numbers in year one.

The Nets’ list of potential All-Stars isn’t long, but getting anyone to Phoenix would be an accomplishment for Brooklyn next season.
