Devin Booker, Four Other Suns Out vs. Wizards

The Phoenix Suns will be without Devin Booker and four other key players when they take on the Washington Wizards.

The Phoenix Suns will once again wait on the arrival of Devin Booker off the injury report.

After missing two games with a hamstring injury, Booker will miss a second consecutive game tonight with groin soreness.

Booker regained his form after a four-game stretch where he scored less than 20 points by dropping a smooth 58 points in Saturday's win over New Orleans.

Damion Lee started for Booker in Monday's win over the Los Angeles Lakers and scored 15 points with six rebounds.

After the game, Monty Williams spoke on why he went with Lee over Landry Shamet, who previously filled in for Booker.

“Well it’s a number of things. Landry is the one guy that we have as a back up to run the point guard position, so if I start him, you almost have to yank him and then bring him back to spell Chris (Paul)," Williams said.

"So just thinking from a rotation standpoint and what’s best for the team, he spaces the floor, speaking of Damien, and it allows for Chris to have space to do what he does and I was just happy to see him aggressive and knocking down shots but taking shots."

Jock Landale (concussion) and Cameron Payne (foot) will also miss consecutive games while Cam Johnson (Achilles) still remains out.

Josh Okogie left action early last night with a right hip injury and will miss tonight as well. He played just ten minutes in the win over the Lakers.

Washington's injury report is as follows:

Vernon Carey Jr. (G League – On Assignment) is Out

Johnny Davis (G League – On Assignment) is Out

Devon Dotson (G League – Two-Way) is Out

Rui Hachimura (Right Ankle Soreness) is Out

Isaiah Todd (On Assignment) is Out

Delon Wright (Right Hamstring Strain) is Out

The Wizards enter tonight having lost ten games in a row. Opening tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Arizona time.
