Will Kevin Durant Make History in Phoenix Suns Home Debut?

Will Kevin Durant break a Phoenix Suns franchise record in home debut tonight?

Kevin Durant is reportedly making his Phoenix Suns home debut tonight, which offers him the opportunity to make history.

Durant - one of the best scorers in league history - could potentially break Charles Barkley's record for most points scored for a player's home debut in Phoenix.

Barkley's home debut back in 1992 set the record at 37 points. Closely behind him are Tom Gugliotta (29), Dennis Johnson (28) and Gail Goodrich (27).

Wouldn’t it be ironic if Durant broke Barkley’s record tonight?

It's clear that Durant and Barkley are not the best of friends. The two have gone back and forth criticizing one another on social media and on a national platform.

Recently, Barkley went on CBS and said, "He's very sensitive. Great player. He's part of that generation who think he can't be criticized. He's never looked in the mirror and says 'Man, is that a fair criticism?”

Durant did not take well to these comments as he clapped back on twitter tweeting.

“This ain’t gettin tiring chuck? I’ll never respect the words that come out ya mouth fam just deal with it.”

The only thing holding Durant back could be a minutes restriction. He is coming back from a sprained ankle so it's likely Monty Williams will be careful handling Durant’s minutes, especially with the playoffs just around the corner.

All eyes will be on Durant tonight to see if he will indeed set history. Durant has previously scored point totals of 37, 20 and 23 in the three games he featured in for Phoenix thus far.
