Injury Update: Steph Curry Takes Incredibly Positive Step in Recovery

It was recently announced by Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers that Steph Curry could target January 13th for his return from injury. This will of course be dependent on Curry's progress and the lack of any setbacks, but Curry just recently took an incredibly positive step in his recovery that indicates he could be getting close.

It was announced on Friday that Curry took part in a contact five-on-five practice, which is a major step in the recovery process. In order for Curry to return, stringing together several full practices without any setbacks is a must, and he has now notched one of those around a week out from his hopeful return.

The Warriors have won five of their last six games without both Curry and Andrew Wiggins, but they are certainly ready to get their top talent back. The team has done well to survive while this shorthanded, and has an opportunity to climb back up the standings once Curry returns.

It has been an up and down season for Golden State, but they have hung around .500 for most of the year, which gives them an opportunity to climb back into contention in the second half of the season. With Steph Curry still playing at an MVP level, the Warriors will always have a chance. For now, the superstar point guard is making great progress towards a return.
