Luka Doncic's Injury Status for Warriors vs Lakers

In this story:
The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors face off in one of the NBA's most anticipated matchups on Thursday night. Both teams have some new high-profile faces, but the two superstars of the show should be available: LeBron James and Steph Curry.
Both teams have made major trades this week, with the Lakers acquiring Luka Doncic and the Warriors acquiring Jimmy Butler. However, it's not looking like either player will be available in Thursday night's battle.
The Los Angeles Lakers listed Luka Doncic as out against the Golden State Warriors due to a left calf strain.

The early reports from NBA insider Marc Spears have indicated that Doncic may return against the Utah Jazz next week. He's already been spotted in practice with the Lakers, so a return is definitely looming.

Doncic has not played since Christmas Day against the Minnesota Timberwolves in a 105-99 loss; he only played in 16 minutes that game before suffering the calf injury.
Through 22 games this season, Doncic was averaging 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 7.8 assists, and 2.0 steals on 46/35/77 shooting from the field. It's been a slight decrease from his career average and a big decrease from last season, but it's still All-NBA level production.
The Golden State Warriors face off against the Los Angeles Lakers at 10:00 p.m. EST on Thursday.
