Did The NBA Snub Delon Wright?

In this story:
In today’s NBA, it’s fair to say that there aren’t a ton of guys who cares about defense. Believe it or not, despite the scoring splurge, defense still wins NBA Games. There is no question that Jaren Jackson Jr of the Memphis Grizzlies deserved to be crowned as the 2023 Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year this season. Without him, the Grizzlies wouldn’t have even made it to the playoffs to say the least. He has been their defensive anchor both in the paint and on the perimeter.
But what about the All Defensive First and Second Teams? Today, the NBA announced those teams but someone seems to be missing…

Congratulations to each and every player that has made the NBA All Defensive Team. That award and recognition is truly deserving as they worked their butts off this entire season for their respected teams. But one thing to note is Washington Wizards Guard Delon Wright is missing from the list. Did he get snubbed of this award? Delon Wright took to Twitter to voice his opinion on the matter.
I didn’t play enough games unfortunately, but next year I need a spot ✍🏾
— Delon Wright (@delonwright) May 9, 2023
Delon Wright saved the Wizards in many games this season. His defensive awareness along with his willingness to take on many team’s best perimeter players is certainly worth noting. It’s an art that many people shy away from especially due to the fact they want to avoid being embarrassed on social media. It doesn’t take much to be made a meme of. We can ask former Wizards F Otto Porter Jr. that, right?
Despite being left off, we can have confidence that Delon Wright will be an even better defender next season. He hasn’t even touched his potential yet.
