Why The Wizards Will Struggle At Home Tonight

The Washington Wizards will be back at it tonight as they will be hosting a team they are very familiar with, the Cleveland Cavaliers. This rivalry between the two teams go as far as the Gilbert Arenas days when LeBron James was leading the charge for the Cavs. However, the Wizards are hoping to make this rivalry interesting as the Cavs have been getting the best out of them lately, especially this season.

The Wizards are trailing 0-2 in the season series with the Cavaliers thus far this season. The first game was probably the worst loss of the season for the Wizards as they got blown out by 40 points in a game where the Cavs were without two of their best players in Darius Garland and Evan Mobley.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been really hot as of late. They just got Garland and Mobley back into the lineup and are only improving as a team. They are now on a six game winning streak and seem to be on cruise control at this time. The schedule of the Wizards is only getting tougher.

Shocking News For Wizards This Month

The Wizards are hoping to turn things around as they are on a three game slide. However, we know tonight simply may not be the night for them with the Cavs rolling the way that they are.

If the Wizards want to win tonight, they have to play together both offensively and defensively. They need to look for mismatches and exploit them. They also need to play strategically. Jarrett Allen is a big body who does a lot of the dirty work. Can they get him in foul trouble? Being aggressive with Donovan Mitchell will help too. When a player that once scored 70 points in a game sees the ball go into the basket a lot, it’s hard to stop that. They need to make him get free throws and not field goals in this game. The odds are against the Wizards, but there is still hope in this one.
