Former NFL Quarterback Chase Daniel on What Makes Joe Burrow Such an Impressive Player: 'No Clue And That's a Good Thing'

Burrow and the Bengals are fighting for AFC Playoff contention.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL as Joe Burrow tries to find MVP-level form in recent weeks. Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel said he had "no clue" what makes Joe Burrow so good snap-to-snap, and explained why that's a good thing.

Daniel played in the NFL for over a decade before entering the media space this past offseason.

"I have no clue and that's a good thing," Daniel said about Burrow's skills on The Atheltic Football Show. "I came to the realization that he does everything really well. In my opinion, there's no true weakness in his game, which just tells you the consistent level that he plays at. And I think that's probably what I'd go with is the consistency. You rarely see him have a bad game and you rarely see him make mistakes. So it's just like calm cool collected Joe Cool, right? It's just a consistent level of really high-level play.

"A lot of times when you say consistent, they're like, 'Oh, that's a bad adjective or way to describe people.' I love it because it's not only consistent, but it's consistent at a high level, and he just does the small things right, whether it's subtle movements in the pocket, or whether just a look off of the eye when he knows where he's going. He's got such a feel for that offense in Cincy that it just runs through him."

Burrow has to elevate even more this week as Tee Higgins fights a lingering hamstring issue and the defense prepares for both starting defensive ends to miss the biggest game to date this season against Baltimore.
