Ja'Marr Chase Throws Rare Backflip as Bengals Beat 49ers: 'Haven't Done a Backflip in Three Years'
CINCINNATI — The Bengals got a flipping good performance out of Ja'Marr Chase on Sunday. Chase flashed an awesome backflip on his touchdown reception that helped seal a 31-17 win.
It was his fifth career game with at least 10 catches, 100 yards & a TD (the most all-time by an NFL player before turning 25 years old).
"I did gymnastics when I was about 8-12," Chase said about his acrobatic past. "I was in it for a minute then I stopped over time."
What makes the feat even more amazing is that Chase stated he hadn't thrown a backflip in years.
"I haven't done a backflip in three years," the wide receiver said. "Why would I practice a backflip? What if I get hurt trying to practice it."
Thankfully, Chase landed on stable footing, unlike most of the defenders who faced him on Sunday.
