CINCINNATI — T.J. Houshmandzadeh went to bat last week for some old teammates he believes are worthy of more Pro Football Hall of Fame consideration.

The former Bengals wide receiver highlighted great play from Willie Anderson and running mate Chad Johnson.

"I'm not putting anybody down because I don't know a lot of these dudes, but I did play against some of these dudes," Houshmandzadeh said on the Behind The Mask Podcast. "I speak from experience, and guys that I played against or played with, for example, Willie Anderson. He can't control he was drafted by the Bengals. But anybody that knows football knows he has one of the best offensive linemen to ever play and the fact that you don't vote him in it shows you're incompetent, and the rules need to be changed. Willie didn't give up sacks, and he can't get in? People that's doing the voting, they bogus.

"Chad was a top-three receiver in the league. No question. Nobody can argue that. He can't be a finalist? There's dudes getting in the Hall of Fame that can't f*** with Chad."

Anderson was close to getting in this year as a finalist and should be in contention once again next cycle. Johnson has never really gotten a sniff at final contention.

They ironically have near identical Hall of Fame monitor scores on Pro Football Reference. Anderson sits at 60.03, while Johnson is slightly higher at 62.29. The average Hall of Famer sits at 95 and 104 for those two positions.
