Ja'Marr Chase on Joe Burrow's Wrist Injury: 'It’s Just Tough'

CINCINNATI — The Bengals went through a brutal Thursday Night Football loss to Baltimore as more key players got hurt, including the franchise star, Joe Burrow.

“Not something I was expecting," Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase said about the wrist injury. "I didn’t know if he had any problems or anything. So, it’s just tough seeing something happen during a game like that, but I hope he gets well.”

Chase was understandably frustrated after the 34-20 defeat, where he caught two of seven targets for 12 yards and a touchdown.

“It’s not fun losing, especially on Thursday Night Football," Chase continued. "The whole world was watching on this day and nothing else playing, so it’s not fun losing like that. You’ve got to do better.”

Everyone watched Chase post the second-fewest receiving yards during a game in his career. Baltimore did a great job of making other players beat them.

They were throwing a couple of different coverages at us, probably some quarters...so mixing it up a little bit,” Chase said about the defensive looks.

Cincinnati now awaits test results on Burrow's wrist to determine the severity and timeline for the injury.
