Bengals Meet With Iowa Tight End Sam LaPorta Ahead of 2023 NFL Draft

Cincinnati continues to eye the top tight ends in this year's class.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals had a virtual meeting with Iowa tight end Sam LaPorta according to Justin Melo of The Draft Network. They also met with him at the NFL Combine in March.

The 22-year-old had 111 receptions for 1,327 yards and four touchdowns in 26 games over the past two seasons.

He's considered one of the top tight ends in this draft class. He's only 6-3, 245 pounds, but he ran a 4.59 40-yard dash at the combine and posted a 6.91-second 3-cone drill.

LaPorta has age, production and athleticism on his side. He's projected to be a second round pick and might not make it to the Bengals when they're on the clock in round two (60th overall).
