In this story:

CINCINNATI — Bengals Senior Executive Trey Brown is a finalist for the Jets general manager job.

It sounded like Brown would stay put when Josina Anderson reported that Broncos assistant general manager Darren Mougey would get the job on Friday afternoon.

There are conflicting reports about Brown's status in the Jets' search.

Connor Hughes is reporting that Brown, Mougey and the third finalist Lance Newmark haven't been told if they've gotten the job or not.

He's also reporting that Jets owners Woody and Christopher Johnson have been meeting throughout the day.

If Brown did get the job, the Bengals would get two third round draft picks—one in 2025 and one in 2026.
