Bengals Meet With BYU Offensive Tackle Blake Freeland Ahead of 2023 NFL Draft

CINCINNATI — The Bengals met with BYU offensive tackle Blake Freeland ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Justin Melo reported the meeting. Cincinnati has shown interest in Freehand throughout the cycle.

Freeland is the consensus 92nd-ranked player overall and the eighth-best offensive tackle. The third-team 2022 All-American started all 26 games for BYU over the past two seasons. He is Dane Brugler's 13th-best offensive tackle.

He was PFF's fourth-highest graded tackle in college football (90.9 overall grade) last season as he held the left side down.

"Freeland’s inexperience and the lesser-developed aspects of his game (leverage points, play strength, etc.) will be exposed by NFL talent, but he has the feet, length, and upside to warrant being a mid-round draft pick," Brugler wrote in his draft guide. "He is a work in progress who should eventually compete for an NFL team’s No. 3 tackle spot and potentially more."
