Buffalo Bills head coach Joe Brady hasn't said much about his plans for the starters in Week 2 of the preseason, but it doesn't seem likely they will play.

On Thursday, the Bills took on the Cleveland Browns in a joint practice and Brady was able to get his starters plenty of work. Coaches often praise these sessions, with Brady saying they are "as regular season as it gets." That means we should see a steady dose of backups against the Browns, which is "as preseason as it gets."

While it might not be as exciting to watch the reserves, there are still plenty of reasons to tune in as several roster battles will unfold before our eyes. As players fight for their spot on the roster this weekend against Cleveland, here's a look at four bold predictions for their preseason Week 2 showdown.

Ray Davis rips off big punt return

Ray Davis made it clear to Joe Brady that he wants a crack at the punt return job and Brady said the backup running back will be in the mix. That could involve Davis getting a chance to return punts against the Browns. In this bold prediction, he makes the most of that by ripping off a return of 50-plus yards to prove he deserves a chance at the job in the regular season.

Tyler Bass concern increases

Tyler Bass missed the entire 2025 season after undergoing surgery to repair a sports hernia. Matt Prater filled in admirably last year, but the Bills are turning back to Bass this season. While the coaching staff has faith in the veteran kicker, Bass has the fans concerned after missing a 45-yard kick in the preseason opener.

He was 3-of-4 overall, but the concerns haven't died down, especially after missing two kicks during Thursday's practice. Expecting Bass to be in midseason form right now would be unrealistic, but the misses are unsettling, to say the least. In this bold prediction, which is admittedly less than ideal, Bass misses another sub-50 yard kick which leaves fans more concerned than ever about the kicking situation in Buffalo.

Jordan Hancock stock soars following a pick-six

Second-year defensive back Jordan Hancock was one of the brightest stars last Saturday, recording four tackles with two going for a loss. Listed at safety, Hancock has been surging in the nickel role, proving himself worthy of a spot on the 53-man roster. Hancock is expected to spend more time at safety as he makes a case for his spot on the roster and in this bold prediction, he locks that spot up by recording a pick-six.

T.J. Parker picks up another sack

Rookie T.J. Parker recorded a sack during the Bills' first preseason game, which is unsurprising given how well he's played throughout the offseason. Parker, who was the 35th overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft isn't in line to start with Bradley Chubb and Greg Rousseau ahead of him, but he should get plenty of opportunities during his rookie season. In this final bold prediction, Parker records another sack as he shows why Buffalo targeted him in the draft as well as why he's going to be a heavy part of their EDGE rotation in 2026.
