Browns QB Coach Drew Petzing is a Strong Candidate to Join Cardinals
The Cleveland Browns could soon have to replace their quarterback's coach Drew Petzing. Petzing is expected to be a strong candidate for the Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator job, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Cardinals have requested to interview Petzing to join new Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon's staff.
Petzing is 35 years old and has been with the Browns since 2020. In his first two seasons with the team, Petzing coached the tight ends. This past season Petzing made the move to work with the quarterbacks.
Jacoby Brissett had his best 11-game stretch as a pro this season under leadership from Petzing, Alex Van Pelt, and Kevin Stefanski.
If an opening is made, Cleveland will surely let quarterback Deshaun Watson have an input on the next quarterback coach. Perhaps the team opts to go with someone he has worked with in the past.
