Tennessee Titans interim head coach praises Shedeur Sanders ahead of Week 14 clash

In this story:
Shedeur Sanders will remain the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns this week when they host the Tennessee Titans. This will be the third straight week now that Shedeur is leading the Browns' offense, as Shedeur is 1-1 as the starter.
The Browns sit at 3-9 on the season, similar to them is the Titans, who have a 1-11 record on the year. The Titans, of course, selecting Cam Ward first overall in this past year’s draft as they hope he is the franchise guy for the team.
The wins have not come yet, though, and through 6 weeks of this season, they fired head coach Brian Callahan after a 1-5 start to the season and a 3-14 record last year.
Tennessee turned to senior offensive assistant Mike McCoy to be its interim head coach. McCoy was asked earlier today about his thoughts on Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders:
“A very talented player”
“Like a lot of the young players, there's going to be the good and the bad. I think the one thing you've seen him do is when he gets out of the pocket, the explosive plays that he can make. He's done a nice job. Each week, as a young player, you get better the more experience you get.”
McCoy definitely knows what to look for when talking about a young quarterback, as he has been front row for about half of Cam Ward’s rookie season.
McCoy is showing a lot of praise for the Browns' young quarterback in this quote, starting off by saying he is a talented player, then highlighting what he thinks that Shedeur does well.
In this matchup vs the Titans, we should see Shedeur move the ball effectively, as Tennessee’s defense ranks very low in many key stats. The Titans give up the fourth-most points per game in the NFL at 27.3, and they also give up the ninth-most total yards per game at 345.8.
They are a bit better at defending the pass, letting up 218.3 passing yards per game, which ranks about middle of the table. Defending the run is similar at 127.6 yards per game, but they have allowed the fourth-most touchdowns in the league this season, at 36.
It will be a battle of two of the top projected picks in the 2025 draft on Sunday. Maybe if Shedeur plays well, the Titans will think twice about their pick.
