Panthers Hire Cardinals' Adrian Wilson, Per Report

The Carolina Panthers are hiring Adrian Wilson as their vice president of player personnel, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.

There was some hope that the Arizona Cardinals would retain Adrian Wilson, a prominent member of their front office for a few years now that is highly respected across the league.

However, the deeper we got into the Monti Ossenfort era in Arizona, the less likely it seemed that Wilson would want to stick around.

Now, Wilson has a new home with the Carolina Panthers according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.

When former Cardinals general manager Steve Keim took his leave of absence for health reasons, Wilson and Quentin Harris took over duties as co-interim GM before Ossenfort was eventually hired.

Wilson did receive an interview for the position. There were some whispers of the Cardinals potentially rolling with Wilson/Harris in a co-GM role before Ossenfort landed in Arizona.

Wilson nearly left the Cardinals last offseason for the Jacksonville Jaguars' open GM spot before that eventually crumbled when Byron Leftwich didn't get the head coaching gig there.

Wilson had previously been with Arizona since 2015 as a regional scout before working his way to vice president of pro scouting.
