NFL Insider Gives Updated Timetable for DeAndre Hopkins Trade

We're exactly two weeks away from the 2023 NFL Draft and the Arizona Cardinals are preparing themselves for quite the busy three-day stretch.

The team is in the beginning stages of a rebuild, and after a quiet free agency period, the Cardinals look to make some noise with the No. 3 overall pick whether by taking one of the best non-QB prospects on the board or auctioning off the pick to the highest bidder.

News during that weekend will be focused around the influx of young talent coming to the desert, but we could apparently learn the fate of WR DeAndre Hopkins at some point during draft weekend as well.

Hopkins has been on the trade block since the early days of the offseason but has yet to be shipped to a new team. The Cardinals haven't had their demands met in terms of asking price, and teams are simply playing the waiting game at this point.

The New York Jets have recently been tied to Hopkins after missing out on Odell Beckham Jr., who signed with the Baltimore Ravens.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport appeared on the Pat McAfee Show and offered this on Hopkins:

"I have not heard the Jets with DeAndre Hopkins - they signed two receivers in free agency, they might still draft one. They still have Corey Davis, obviously Garrett Wilson is - I think going to be really, really good maybe. I think they're actually ok at receiver. I viewed Odell as more of a cherry on top of the thing.

"As far as D-Hop, if a trade was going to happen I think [it would take place] probably closer to the draft. I do think it's still possible, I know there's some teams interested. I know those talks are going on. But the draft is probably the time [for a trade]."
