The Los Angeles Chargers are at the final stretch of the preseason, with more questions surrounding one specific position. Similar to last year, the injuries are already starting to pile up on the offensive front. The injuries have created plenty of uncertainty for a team that was hoping to enter the regular season with a more stable offensive line. The nightmare continues as players keep dropping, weakening the line even more.

With that being said, the Chargers received yet another update on center Tyler Biadasz, as well as star left tackle Rashawn Slater.

Chargers injuries newest update adds minimal hope to the situation

The latest update from ESPN insider Adam Schefter gives the Chargers a small reason for optimism, especially when it comes to Rashawn Slater. Schefter reported that Slater is expected to return to practice this weekend, which would be an important step for a Chargers offensive line that has already taken several hits. Getting their star left tackle back on the practice field would give Los Angeles a chance to see how he is progressing before the regular season begins.

The news surrounding Tyler Biadasz however, remains much more concerning. Schefter reported that the veteran center is out indefinitely after suffering an ACL injury, although there is still some hope that he could potentially return later in the season. In most cases similar to this one, the center will have the best chance of returning if the Chargers make a deep playoff run.

As Schefter stated, “There’s hope that maybe he could come back later this season.” That possibility is far from a guarantee, but it gives the Chargers something to hold onto while Biadasz continues to receive additional medical evaluations. With Slater potentially returning to practice and Biadasz facing an uncertain recovery. The Chargers’ offensive line remains a major storyline heading into the regular season.

What does this mean?

The latest update provides new insight for the Chargers, painting a clearer but uncertain picture heading into the regular season. With Biadasz out for the season most likey and Rashawn Slater up in the air, we can only hope the Bolts can make the correct adjustments to protect their franchise quarterback. Most fans will not want to see another repeat of last year, but things seem to be spiraling out of control.

All in all, the Chargers have the talent and depth to salvage this line, even with roadblocks in their way. With correct execution, this season might not be over before it starts.
