Chargers News: Insider Projects Top DC As Permanent New LA Head Coach

In this story:
YourLos Angeles Chargers will hire a new head coach after the season concludes on January 7th. That is a no brainer. The Chargers let go of their head coach after three seasons in Brandon Staley following a miserable 63-21 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, and now they will try to find the right guy for the team.
Interim head coach Giff Smith is currently calling the shots.
There are many great options for the permanent role, but they won't be the only team looking for a new head coach. It will be a tough contest; however, there are a ton of great candidates that could turn this team around and turn them into the contenders we all think they can be.
Names have been thrown around for the longest time, but Tom Krasovic of The San Diego Tribune believes the next man at the helm for the Bolts will be current Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.
Here's what Krasovic had to say about why Quinn would be a great fit in Los Angeles.
“My guess on the next Chargers coach: it’ll be Dan Quinn, defensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys. Disclaimer: I have zero inside information. Why Quinn?
It’s easy to envision the Spanoses and the general manager they hire buying into his enthusiasm and bright track record on defense.
They’ll like that Quinn went to the Super Bowl as the head coach of the Falcons seven years ago; that he won a Super Bowl as the coordinator of the Seahawks’ top-ranked defense a decade ago; that quarterback Matt Ryan won a league MVP award under Quinn and was similar in style to Justin Herbert.

Quinn was last head coach of the Atlanta Falcons from 2015-2020. He led the Falcons to a Super Bowl appearance in year two and a 43-42 record overall. The record may not be ideal, but there's no doubt he deserves another shot as the main guy, and it could be with the Bolts.
Many Charger fans may not want a defensive guy, but Quinn is proven. He did it with the Seattle Seahawks Falcons, and now as the DC of the Cowboys.
The list of names is long, and according to Yahoo Sports, Quinn has +1800 odds to be the next Bolts head coach, ninth on the list.
Quinn is qualified, but we'll see if he can come out of the pack by the end of it.
