Who Do Chiefs Take in SI's Way Too Early Mock?

In this story:
The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a good 2025 NFL Draft. The Chiefs filled in their biggest needs by taking talented players who best fit their team. The team did another good job finding value with their picks. The Chiefs picked at the end of most rounds once again, but they still found some of the best players in the 2025 draft.
The Chiefs will now focus on the rookies they are bringing in and get them up to speed with the playbook and get them going at the NFL level. The Chiefs are looking to be contenders once again in 2025, given they have the best quarterback in the National Football League, Patrick Mahomes.
The Chiefs if they get the right offensive line going next season and they can protect Mahomes they will be on hard offense to stop for any defense in the league.
The Chiefs also did a good job of getting Mahomes help at the wide receiver position. The Chiefs did make some noise on the defensive side of the ball as well. They made defensive picks in the middle rounds, and now their defense will be better than it was heading into the draft last week.
But we want to look ahead to the 2026 NFL Draft. And the Chiefs will be picking at the bottom of the draft again, which means they have the Chiefs having another good season in 2025.
Bryan Fischer of Sports Illustrated has the Chiefs taking running back Nicholas Singleton out of Penn State with the 31st overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
"If Singleton falls to the Chiefs, everybody in the league will be cursing how they let a good player land in the same backfield as Mahomes. He’s adept at running between the tackles as he is getting out into the flat (eight receiving TDs), and should be plenty fresh for the NFL, given how he’s split carries with Kaytron Allen in Happy Valley," said Fischer.
Looking ahead, if the Chiefs can land potentially the best running back in next year's draft, the offense will be more dangerous than ever. Giving the Chiefs a good running game can go a long way to extending their Super Bowl window.
