Despite adding multiple defensive backs to the roster in free agency, the Detroit Lions are doing their due diligence on several defensive prospects coming out in the draft.

Safety Brian Branch is reportedly scheduled to have a pre-draft visit with Detroit's personnel department and coaching staff.

According to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, Branch also has visits scheduled with the Atlanta Falcons, the Houston Texans, the Washington Commanders, the Las Vegas Raiders and the Minnesota Vikings.

"The defensive back has the versatility to play any position in the secondary and even boasts elite special teams potential," NFL Draft Bible explained in its latest scouting report. "Branch is a fluid and clean mover who makes easy changes of direction and transitions. The Alabama safety is explosive in all directions and has good long speed. Further, Branch plays with elite physicality in all areas of the game. He attacks blockers with straight, accurate hands to establish distance and work through them."

The talented defensive back also has a private workout scheduled with the Buffalo Bills

In 2022, Branch recorded three sacks, 90 tackles, two interceptions and seven pass breakups for the Crimson Tide.

Detroit is expecting safety Tracy Walker to make a full recovery from a torn Achilles, while Kerby Joseph will be entering his second season in Motown.

C.J. Gardner-Johnson also has position flexibility to play multiple spots in Aaron Glenn's secondary this upcoming season.
