Game On: Saints-Lions Game To Take Place Sunday

The New Orleans Saints-Detroit Lions Week 4 matchup will be played.
It was confirmed Sunday morning that Saints fullback Michael Burton's second coronavirus test came back negative and his POC test also came back negative.
The Steelers-Titans Wk. 4 contest was the first NFL game postponed due to the pandemic, when several players and members of the Titans organization tested positive for the coronavirus.
Earlier this week, the Patriots-Chiefs matchup was postponed, after New England quarterback Cam Newton tested positive.
On Saturday evening, Burton reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus.
According to Pro Football Talk, New Orleans became aware of the positive test result after arriving in Detroit Saturday evening, ahead of its Week 4 game against the Lions at Ford Field.
After a long night for the #Saints and FB Michael Burton, his sample came back as a false positive. In the words of one source, “Everything that should have happened, did happen, protocol-wise.” The #Lions-#Saints game is on.

Burton was re-tested to determine if the result was a false-positive.
Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford had a similar false-positive test during training camp.
As a result, new protocols were put in place to prevent inaccurate tests from automatically disqualifying players from competing on Sundays.
Detroit (1-2) will take on New Orleans (1-2) today at 1 p.m. EST.
