4 Carolina Panthers With Most to Gain or Lose In NFL Draft

The Carolina Panthers are in a good position for the NFL draft. They've filled most needs, which means they can truly just add talent. Doing so will certainly help plenty of players on the roster.

However, it will also hurt some players whose spots will be given to those rookies. Here are the Panthers with the most to gain and most to lose come draft night.

Most to lose: Trevin Wallace

As of now, Trevin Wallace is the de facto starting linebacker opposite Devin Lloyd. That would not be a bad thing for him, as he would have a much better linebacker leading, freeing him up with less responsibility.

However, that's only if he remains a starter. Dan Morgan met with Jacob Rodriguez and Anthony Hill Jr., and they're both in play in the second-round. If Morgan dips into the deep LB class, Wallace will be the big loser for the Panthers.

Most to gain: Bryce Young

The Panthers went off in free agency, but most of the high-profile action was on the defensive side of the ball. And even the offensive signings were just linemen brought in to replace other linemen. Upgrades weren't necessarily made.

Dave Canales said he wants to rebuild the offense to fit what Bryce Young does best, which means more weapons in the draft. Giving Young more to play with will make him a much better quarterback, and that seems pretty likely right now.

Most to lose: Nick Scott

Nick Scott was a starting safety basically by default last year. He wasn't very good, but the Panthers didn't have other options. They re-signed him because, as of now, they still don't have other options to start.

But if they draft a safety, which Canales said they're looking at, it will spell the end of Scott's time as a starter. The Panthers may draft Dillon Thieneman or Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, and either would be a massive upgrade.

Most to gain: Brad Idzik

Much like Bryce Young, new play-caller Brad Idzik stands to gain a ton if the Panthers do invest in weapons on offense. Right now, he has Chuba Hubbard, Jalen Coker, and Tetairoa McMillan as real, legitimate offensive weapons to call plays for.

Imagine if he gets Kenyon Sadiq, Makai Lemon, KC Concepcion, Jadarian Price, Denzel Boston, or Eli Stowers, though. Suddenly, his job is a whole lot easier and probably a lot more fun. It will make the transition between play-callers easier.
