Raiders Sign UDFA John Samuel Shenker TE,  Auburn

The Las Vegas Raiders signed UDFA John Samuel Shenker, who is Auburn's all-time receptions leader among tight ends.

With Darren Waller being traded to the New York Giants this off-season, the Las Vegas Raiders needed to fill in some gaps at the tight end position.

The Raiders, in fact, did fill the gap by drafting tight end Michael Mayer from Notre Dame with pick No. 55 in round two of day two of the 2023 NFL Draft.

However, Raiders are bringing in another tight end to make an impact for the team.

The Raiders signed undrfted free agent John Samuel Shenker, a tight end from Auburn. Shenker is 6-4 and 250 pounds, and is from Albany, Ga. Shenker, who spent a total of six years at Auburn, had a pretty proficient college career during his time with the Tigers.

In his 2022 senior season, Shenker finished as the all-time Auburn record holder for career tight end catches with a total of 68. Shenker also finished second in tight end career receiving yards (779) and played a total of 62 games, which set a school record.

John Samuel Shenker participated in Auburn Pro Day, where he ran a 4.53 40-yard dash. He also put up 27 reps on the bench and caught passes from former NFL star quarterback Cam Newton.

With newly added tight ends Michael Mayer and John Samuel Shenker, the tight end depth position for the Raiders will be very interesting to watch.
