The Las Vegas Raiders added to what was already an above-average group of edge rushers with their first-round pick of this year's NFL Draft, Tyree Wilson.

The club believed the defensive end from Texas Tech was worthy of the seventh overall pick, and it seems others would agree.

NFL Network's Bucky Brooks ranked Wilson at No. 2 on his top-five rookie edge rushers heading into the 2023-24 season in a recent segment on "Path to the Draft."

"Long, athletic, agile, versatile because he played inside and outside," Brooks said of Wilson. "You now have an opportunity to put him with Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones. So he not only gets the benefit from playing alongside them, he gets to see them and how they work. He'll pick up a couple tools to add to his tool box that will make him a very effective rusher on third down."

Ahead of Wilson, Brooks ranked Will Anderson Jr. at No. 1. Behind the Raider rookie; Brooks listed Lukas Van Ness (No.3), Felix Anudike-Uzomah (No. 4), and Will McDonald IV (No. 5).

Wilson's final collegiate campaign was cut short when he suffered a foot injury late in the 2022 season. Even so, he was named a first-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America after totaling 61 tackles, 14 for losses, seven sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.
