NFL writer names 'one logical suitor' to trade for Seahawks WR DK Metcalf

On Wednesday, the Seattle Seahawks moved on from one of the most productive receivers in franchise history and another may soon follow. Shortly after the team released veteran Tyler Lockett, it was reported that DK Metcalf requested a trade. The Seahawks are expected to comply with Metcalf's request and there should be plenty of interested teams.
Metcalf, 27, has been remarkably consistent over his first six NFL seasons. The former second-round pick has posted over 900 receiving yards each year since entering the league in 2019. So which team is most likely to swing a deal for Metcalf?
NFL.com writer Nick Shook likes the Green Bay Packers as a potential trade partner for the Seahawks wide receiver. The Packers made the playoffs in the ultra-competitive NFC North last season and an elite weapon like Metcalf could potentially put them over the top in 2025.
"One logical suitor -- the Green Bay Packers, a team whose own running back, Josh Jacobs, admitted lacked a true No. 1 receiver -- will be mentioned plenty as the Seahawks weigh their options," wrote Shook. "With Metcalf seeking a way out, such a pairing makes sense."

Green Bay makes sense as a landing spot for Metcalf, unless the team prefers to reunite with Davante Adams. Either way, the team should be looking to give young Jordan Love a proven weapon this offseason. If the Packers aren't interested, another potential team to watch is the Las Vegas Raiders.
Metcalf could reunite with former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll. The only potential roadblock is the Raiders don't have a quarterback. With Russell Wilson unlikely to return in Pittsburgh, perhaps Carroll will reunite with his three former Seahawks players in Las Vegas this season.
Considering Metcalf's age and the lack of star power in this year's wide receiver class, Seahawks general manager John Schneider should be fielding plenty of phone calls.
