Joey Porter Jr. Shares Cryptic Post in Midst of Steelers Negotiations

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- Joey Porter Jr. may be hinting at something, or could just be reminding everyone how good he is. Either way, there appears to be an intentional message being sent from the Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback.
Porter Jr. shared a video on his Instagram story of him being introduced at Acrisure Stadium before a Steelers game with the hourglass emoji. He also allowed two other comments to be shared: one with the eyeballs emoji and the other that reads "BEST IN THE [expletive] LEAGUE."

What's the Message Mean?
In recent days, Chris Halicke of DK Pittsburgh Sports reported that the Steelers and Porter Jr. were not close to a new deal and were not expected to sign one before Week 1 of the regular season. Jordan Schultz reported that because no deal has been done, other NFL teams are curious about a potential trade.
Well, Porter Jr.'s owns words and actions may be hinting to something different.
At a bare minimum, it feels like Porter is making it known that he'll be on the field come Week 1 of the regular season. Right now, he's on the Physically Unable to Perform list with a back injury, according to the team. Many believe it was a way for Porter to miss training camp and not make it look like he was holding in.
Maybe, whether or not a deal gets done, Porter will be back in the Steelers' lineup by the time the regular season starts.
It may also be him sending a message to the Steelers that he deserves to get paid as a top cornerback in the NFL.
Porter and the Steelers haven't made much progress throughout the summer on a new contract. It appears Porter is looking for more than the Steelers believe he is worth and while they want to keep him, they aren't going to overpay.
The third outcome could be that Porter and the Steelers are on the verge of signing a deal and things have drastically changed in the last few days. It's not impossible, and contract negotiations change quickly in the NFL all the time.
No matter what Porter means by the post, the story continues. An offseason that has felt very quiet on the Porter signing front has ramped up in recent days and may continue to do so as the season approaches.
