Steelers' DK Metcalf Has Bold NFL Goal

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf has been in the spotlight ever since arriving in his new city. The organization's new top offensive weapon is one of the most gifted athletes in the entire NFL, and he believes it will help him achieve a bold career accomplishment before he retires.
Through the first 14 games, Metcalf has battled through tough stretches as he reaches another 1,000-yard season. With 55 receptions, he has 808 yards and six touchdowns with an additional score coming on a run play. His 90 targets also lead the team.
The last few weeks have unlocked another level for Metcalf in the Steelers' offense. Against the Baltimore Ravens, he recorded a season-high 148 receiving yards. He followed that up with 55 yards and a 28-yard touchdown catch against the Miami Dolphins.
While he continues to impact the game on offense, Metcalf believes he will one day make an impact on the other side of the ball. He recently appeared on The Christian Kuntz Podcast, and discussed his career and views on the NFL with his teammate. While discussing his recent snap taken as a gunner on special teams, Metcalf revealed what he's always wanted to do on the NFL field: record a sack. He believes he can do it before he hangs up his cleats.
"I've always wanted to get a sack," he said. "I bet I get a sack before my career's over. 100%"
Metcalf Reaching Next Level
There was a stretch this season where the Metcalf deal looked regrettable. Starting with their Week 9 loss against the Green Bay Packers and their Week 13 loss to the Buffalo Bills, Metcalf went five consecutive contests with less than 50 receiving yards and zero touchdowns.

But then, that explosive performance against the Ravens changed everything. He and quarterback Aaron Rodgers look perfectly in sync. As a result, Metcalf looks elite once again.
Could Metcalf Get a Sack?
The simple answer here, is yes. Metcalf is 6'4" and 230 pounds. He's a bit undersized in the Steelers' 3-4 base defense, but in a different defensive scheme, he's an ideal linebacker's size.
Combine that with Metcalf's athleticism, and he has a case. His teammate might not have agreed on his podcast, but it's hard to doubt someone of Metcalf's abilities and stature. If he really wanted to, he could easily record a sack before his career ends.
