Tennessee Titans Make More Cuts Including LB Chance Campbell
The Tennessee Titans, like the rest of the NFL, are shaving their rosters down to 53 players by the 4PM deadline on Tuesday and we just got reports of another set of cuts to go along with some of the morning action.
Here are the latest cuts being reported by Justin Melo:
WR Mason Kinsey
TE Thomas Odukoya
TE Kevin Rader
OLB Sam Okuayinonu
OT John Ojukwu
Maybe surprise isn't the right word, but there are some players here who at least felt like they had a shot at making the roster. Kinsey has been with the team for three training camps, but can't seem to breakthrough. Expect him to be back on the practice squad if he is not claimed on waivers.
Odukoya has been a standout in the offseason, earning praise from his head coach Mike Vrabel and teammates. Odukoya is an alum of the international pathway program and if brought back to the practice squad, would not count towards the 16-man limit. Making him an enticing option.
Rader has versatility in that he can be a tight end, as listed, but also add some value as a fullback. However, that versatility was not enough to keep him on the roster. Rader is also a practice squad candidate.
John Ojukwu is an undrafted rookie out of Boise State who got some early praise from Mike Vrabel, but Ojukwu has been dealing with an injury all preseason that has limited his availability and ultimately cost him a shot at the roster. Expect the Titans to bring him back to the practice squad as well.
Turron Davenport from ESPN may have reported the biggest shock of the day when he reported the Titans were waiving linebacker Chance Campbell. Campbell was the Titans sixth-round pick in 2022 and despite missing last season with an injury, looked good in the preseason.
