Man Utd Predicted Lineup vs. Hull: Premier League

Manchester United’s Premier League season gets underway with a trip to newly-promoted Hull City in Saturday’s early kick off.
After an impressive resurgence under Michael Carrick during the second half of last season, the Red Devils enter the new term brimming with confidence. They will expect to make a winning start, but can ill-afford complacency heading to the MKM Stadium.
Carrick will have the opportunity to hand out debuts to two newcomers in midfield, with Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos both likely to earn starts. He also has decisions to make at center back and up front for a potentially awkward opener.
Here’s how United could line up.
Man Utd Predicted Lineup vs. Hull

GK: Senne Lammens—An impressive debut season in Manchester solved a major headache for United. Lammens is the undisputed first-choice and his presence has allowed the club to rid themselves of André Onana and Altay Bayındır—for the 2026–27 season, at least.
RB: Diogo Dalot—Dalot begins his ninth season as a United player and will spend the campaign rotating with Noussair Mazraoui in the right back position.
CB: Harry Maguire—One of Carrick’s favorite lieutenants, Maguire’s position in the starting XI is guaranteed with Matthijs de Ligt still battling injury and Leny Yoro struggling to make an impact. The towering Englishman scored in United’s final preseason friendly with Milan.
CB: Ayden Heaven—World Cup finalist Lisandro Martínez made a late return to Manchester and will likely feature on the bench against Hull as he works his way back up to speed. Heaven should get the nod as a result.
LB: Luke Shaw—United find themselves light in the left back department following Tyrell Malacia’s exit and Patrick Dorgu’s redeployment. Shaw is the only natural in the role as things stand.
CM: Youri Tielemans—Arguably the signing of the summer, Tielemans has already made his mark in preseason with some encouraging displays. He’s the perfect bridge between defense and offense.
CM: Andrey Santos—While Tielemans is busy dictating play and punching passes through the lines, fellow new recruit Santos will be utilized as a more destructive force. The Brazilian featured in every preseason match and has made a bright start in a red jersey.
RW: Amad Diallo—It could be a big season for Amad, who should earn more minutes considering United’s busier schedule. After just five goal contributions last term, the 24-year-old needs to deliver more.
AM: Bruno Fernandes—The assist king and 2025–26 Premier League Player of the Season remains United’s beating heart. Fernandes elevates those around him and will likely be his side’s difference-maker here and throughout the season.
LW: Matheus Cunha—Cunha’s place in the starting lineup is not assured, but his ability to drift inside as a No. 10 and also push through the middle adds a different spark to United’s attack. An indifferent display would see Dorgu come into the fold, with the Dane enjoying playing in a more advanced role.
ST: Bryan Mbeumo—Benjamin Šeško has returned to team training, but he’s unlikely to feature having missed the entirety of preseason with injury. Mbeumo, as he often did under Carrick last term, will start in the No. 9 role.
