Boston College Football Falls Short of Landing Three Star '26 Safety Jax Pope

The rising high school senior announced his commitment to Mississippi State over the Eagles as well as other SEC and ACC programs.

Three-star class of 2026 defensive lineman Jax Pope has committed to Mississippi State over Boston College. 

The rising high school senior made the announcement via a social media post on Saturday. 

“DREAMS TO REALITY,” said Pope via X. “1000% COMMITTED.” 

Pope revealed his final five schools on May 30 which featured Mississippi State, Boston College, Arkansas, Duke, and Stanford. 

He picked up his offer from the Eagles on Feb. 23 which he shared to social media shortly after. 

“AGTG. Blessed to receive an offer from Boston College University,” said Pope via X. 

The 6-foot, 180-pound prospect is a product of Buford High School in Buford Ga. He ranks No. 1,331 nationally, No. 119 in safeties, and No. 139  in the state of Ga., according to 247Sports Composite. 

Pope is one of 20 commits for the Bulldogs’ class of 2026 that ranks No. 34 overall and No. 7 in the SEC in 247Sports’ recruiting rankings with 183.44 points. 

As for Boston College, the program currently holds 21 commitments for its upcoming class and ranks No. 33 overall and No. 12 in the ACC with 183.81 points.
