Signing Day: Live Updates from SI All-American

The Early Signing Period, a.k.a. National Signing Day, is upon us and SI All-American will have college football fans coast to coast covered as Letters of Intent roll in.

As the first day of the Early Signing Period winds down, SI All-American continues to track the recruiting news as the class of 2020 takes shape.

Updates:

12/19 2:00 p.m. SI All American Clark Phillips flips his commitment from Ohio State to Utah, after a December 14th visit to Salt Lake City.

7:30 p.m. SI All-American looks at the winners and losers from the Early Signing Period.

6:49 p.m. Longtime Oklahoma running back commitment Jase McCllelan flips his pledge to Alabama. The Aledo (Tex.) standout had been committed to the Sooners since 2017.

6:43 p.m. North Carolina held onto defensive tackle commitment Clyde Pinder, who was previously considering delaying his signing to the program. Florida hosted him for an official visit this month and pushed for a flip.

6:39 p.m. SIAA spoke to the mother of new Oregon signee Robby Ashford, Meloney Ashford, who stressed the on and off the field presentation from Mario Cristobal and company as the reason the Hoover (Ala.) senior committed and signed to UO.

"We've been to the SEC schools and Oregon's facilities are five to ten times better," she said. "And the coaching staff...just so genuine."

6:15 p.m. SI All-American wide receiver Malachi Wideman remains committed to Florida State, but did not sign with the Seminoles Wednesday. We're told it's up in the air whether that changes during the Early Signing Period.

6:04 p.m. Some of the winners and losers of National Signing Day broken down here:

5:58 p.m. After a bit of worry following a commitment to Georgia, former LSU wide receiver commitment Jermaine Burton indeed faxed in his LOI to the program.

5:45 p.m. While he won't sign until February, former Ole Miss quarterback commitment Robby Ashford announces he's verbally committed to Oregon.

5:20 p.m. Though SI All-American Jordan Burch has yet to send in his Letter of Intent to South Carolina, head coach Will Muschamp expects him in the class when all is said and done.

5:00 p.m. SI All-American names Clemson the Early Signing Period recruiting champions.

4:25 p.m. Donell Harris sticks with Texas A&M despite a late in-state push from Florida.

4:20 p.m. As expected, SI All-American Bryce Young has signed with Alabama, ending any idle speculation that there was ever a chance it was someone else.

Track all of the movement from college football's most important day of the year, National Signing Day, as it happens throughout the day Wednesday.

3:04 p.m. Arkansas and new coach Sam Pittman flipped an Oregon Duck commitment in Myles Slusher

2:35 p.m. SI All-American defensive lineman Jordan Burch announces his verbal commitment to South Carolina. Clemson, LSU, Alabama and Georgia were the other finalists.

2:27 p.m. Coveted defensive lineman Tim Smith sticks with Alabama despite push from in-state Florida.

2:14 p.m. SI All-American linebacker Justin Flowe announces his commitment to Oregon.

1:59 p.m. Maryland officially announces the signing of local star Rakim Jarrett, who flipped from LSU.

1:25 p.m. Longtime Florida State lean and wide receiver Bryan Robinson announces his commitment to the Seminoles despite the coaching changes.

1:23 p.m. Another flip is in, this time Auburn changes the mind of defensive end prospect Romello Height, who had been committed to Miami.

1:16 p.m. More and more momentum for Georgia, who could be in line for another addition at wide receiver. Atlanta-area native Jermaine Burton, an LSU verbal, is seriously considering flipping to Kirby Smart and company. The Tigers would be losing their second top-tier wide receiver of the day following the flip of Rakim Jarrett to Maryland.

1:14 p.m. Lakeland (Fla.) defensive back recruit Kendall Dennis announces his commitment to Oklahoma.

1:00 p.m. The fastest recruit available today, Arian Smith, picks Georgia. The Lakeland (Fla.) standout was among the most coveted wide receiver projections in the country. He's been clocked at 10.3 in the 100-meter dash.

12:45 p.m. CJ Stroud stuck with the projection to Ohio State despite a late push from Georgia. He becomes the latest California quarterback to head east.

11:50 a.m. EJ Smith has picked the Stanford Cardinal.

11:35 a.m. Rakim Jarrett is a candidate for biggest story of the day as the 5-Star receiver flips from LSU to Maryland.

11:05 a.m. Marcus Dumervil to LSU has the Tigers heating up today. The Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas offensive tackle was perhaps the top uncommitted player at his position nationally. He teams up with high school teammate Marlon Martinez, who was LSU's first signee of the day.

10:57 a.m. IMG Academy's Josh Griffis announced a flip from Louisville to Florida State. He was previously committed to FSU under Willie Taggart but had recently changed his mind. The Seminoles are having a strong morning.

10:45 a.m. Francois' LOI has been sent to Nebraska, in case anyone was wondering if the story could turn again. Scott Frost and company busy in Florida as per usual. Pairing Francois with fellow Miami-area native Henry Gray should afford some youth in the Husker secondary.

10:15 a.m. The bizarre story of the morning is in. Jaiden Francois, of Miami (Fla.) South Dade, was set to announce between Miami and Nebraska before receiving a phone call and leaving the stage. After every rumor one could imagine, Francois would eventually return and announce for Nebraska as he planned to all along.

10:00 a.m. Peach State linebacker projection Desmond Tisdol just committed to Auburn over Tennessee. A big day shaping up for Guz Malzahn and company. SI All-American takes a closer look:

9:43 a.m. Georgia Tech just reeled in dual-threat QB and former Florida State commitment Jeff Sims. SI All-American breaks it down:

9:31 a.m. New FSU coach Mike Norvell continues to add offensive pieces as Kentron Poitier picked the in-state program today. Basketball player turned wide receiver has great length and ball skills. Also has the frame to fill out and be one of those back-shoulder, 50/50 ball targets on the outside.

9:25 a.m. Jumbo athlete Jeremiah Pegues, out of Mississippi, commits to Auburn over Ole Miss and Alabama. The two-way talent is intriguing at 6-foot-3, 285 pounds and can end up on either side of the line of scrimmage.

8:45 a.m. The Jordan Burch rumors are flying like never before. Just got off the phone with a source saying Clemson has been in the most recent contact and is feeling more optimistic about their chances for the in-state star. Winner of the Burch battle may end up as the champions of the Early Signing Period. CU, LSU or Georgia?

8:30 a.m. Duke flips and signs speedy Alabama athlete Jaylen Stinson from Purdue. The dynamic talent could play cornerback, slot receiver and/or factor into the return game with the Blue Devils.

8:26 a.m. ACC programs have been in touch with Jacksonville-area wide receiver Tyree Saunders over the last week but he will stick with his commitment to Virginia Tech. Syracuse offered late and tried to get him to take an official visit and/or delay his signing. Florida State has been in touch in the last 24 hours but an offer from the in-state program never materialized.

8:15 a.m. One of the first flips of the day could have big implications on the top class. Virginia defensive back Malcolm Greene flipped from LSU to Clemson this morning. Physical DB could wind up at nickel or safety in the ACC.

8:00 a.m. Tennessee could be in line for a strong finish. A fresh pro-Vol prediction on 6-foot-6 Fairfield (Ala.) two-way lineman Reggie Perry is in. A solid defensive tackle prospect who could have a higher ceiling at offensive tackle. Basketball background and can move well for his size.

7:30 a.m. SI All-American running back Demarkcus Bowman, a multi-year Florida target the program tried to flip away from Clemson, has signed with the defending national champions.

7:30 a.m. The race for SI All-American linebacker Justin Flowe has been tough to track. May he stay in Pac-12 country?

7:20 a.m. Florida's best news today may be locking in SI All-American and class headliner Gervon Dexter:

Fellow elite defender and linebacker Derek Wingo is also already locked into his future at UF.

7:08 a.m. Florida may not have the great finish we expected some 36 hours ago. A pair of flip candidates within state lines for the Gators, defensive tackle Tim Smith (Alabama) and defensive end Donell Harris (Texas A&M), seem more likely to stick with their SEC West commitments than it appeared earlier in the week. Smith will sign after 2:00 p.m. while Harris is holding off until 4:00 p.m., so there is a lot of time for more movement either way.

More on Smith:

6:45 a.m. Longtime Florida State commitment Jeff Sims, one of the top uncommitted quarterbacks in the class, appears to be headed for ACC foe Georgia Tech. The pledge from the dual-threat would register as the most important of the Geoff Collins era thus far and it would pair Sims with fellow Floridian Tucker Gleason as QBs in the class. Sims is slated to make his choice between GT and Maryland public shortly after 9:00 a.m.

6:00 a.m. Overnight buzz is strong with LSU in the pursuit of SI All-American defensive end Jordan Burch. Nothing about his recruitment has been clear, but the Tiger buzz with his name is the strongest any one program has held in some time. Clemson and Georgia are also heavily involved while South Carolina and Alabama round out his top five.
