Trevin Wallace out of Jesup, Georgia was one of the best linebackers in the state this season. Originally committed to the place that birthed Luke Kuechly, Wallace had decommitted from Boston College after a river of additional offers poured in.

Some had connected him to Auburn, but this path was blurred after the Malzahn firing.

Kentucky was left out of the Pre-National Signing Day SI All-American Top 25 Recruiting Class Rankings.

Trevin Wallace is a supreme athlete and a hell of a hitter. He has the athletic foundation to build simple skills on top of that could put him on the field early in his career. He’s a fluid athlete, even taking some QB snaps during his final season in high school. This shows us his coaches trust him enough to contribute in more roles than just one, and playing both sides of the ball raises overall football IQ. Linebacker is the position that benefits most from less thinking, and more going.

Wallace joins the Jon Sumrall and Brad White-led linebacking units who deploy their corps in a variety of ways. Sumrall is known to employ a rotation to keep his linebackers fresh, and Wallace could end up playing on the line of scrimmage as well. Wallace has a great opportunity to get onto the field in a hurry either at outside or inside linebacker.

Here is our bottom line on Trevin Wallace's ability:

Bottom Line: Wallace is a high-ceiling prospect whose best football is ahead of him. He is an athletic and rangy defender who plays more of a safety/rover role currently, though projects best to the second-level flanks in college as a Sam ‘backer.
