Moore was the No. 8 overall pick in 2024 and is tearing through the minor league circuit. In his last two seasons, including a pair of Single-A games, Moore is hitting .284 with an OPS of .807, along with 34 RBIs through 59 games.
The 22-year-old second baseman is showing enough promise to make it to the next step in his baseball career and increasingly closer to making it to The Show.
During an illustrious college career at the University of Tennessee, Moore batted .338/.447/.697 with an absurd OPS of 1.144. He added 61 long balls and 160 RBIs across three seasons with the Volunteers, culminating in a NCAA championship where he earned All-Tournament team honors, and even hit a leadoff home run in the series-clinching Game 3.

Despite all the success at a young age, Moore stays level-headed and even spoke on his mindset during spring training, a time when many saw Moore as a legitimate option to make Angels.
“I just take it day by day,” Moore said. “I'm trying to really get to learn everybody and get to know everybody. Baseball takes cares of itself. Obviously, it's harder as you get up here, it’s still baseball when you're on that diamond between those white lines. So whatever happens, happens.”
Moore also caught the attention of general manager Perry Mianasian this spring as he talked about the team's mindset when considering bringing up young talent.
“I wouldn't rule anything out,” Minasian said, via MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger. “We're taking the best team. We really like our system and the young players we have. If somebody's going to make us better on the field, we’re not going to hesitate to give them the opportunity to do that.”
Although Moore didn't make the Angels by Opening Day, Triple-A is another major step on his way to get there. If he keeps impressing with his bat, the infielder should be the next prospect to debut in Anaheim.
