NBA Insider: 76ers Among Teams Interested in Eight-Time All-Star

The upcoming free agency window could feature some big names with the likes of Klay Thompson, James Harden, and DeMar DeRozan, amongst others, could be up for grabs.

Another big name that could be in the market is Paul George, who is in the last year of his contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, which does include a player option for the 2024-25 season.

George has been a key part of the Clippers' turnaround this season, averaging 24 points on 46 percent shooting, which sees him tied with Kawhi Leonard at the top of Los Angeles' scoring leaders.

With Leonard receiving a three-year extension last week, there is belief that George and the Clippers are going to reach a similar agreement, as reported by NBA Insider Marc Stein.

"The three-year extension in excess of $150 million signed by Kawhi Leonard with the Clippers without warning last week is merely the latest example..." said Stein, "The rising expectation across the league now, of course, is that George will do a new Kawhi-esque deal with the Clippers sooner rather than later..."

However, if the two parties are unable to reach an agreement, and George declines his player option, the rest of the league will be able to bid for his name.

According to Stein, the Philadelphia 76ers reportedly have an interest in the 33-year-old, alongside the team that drafted him, the Indiana Pacers, where he spent seven seasons, earning four All-Star appearances.

"George’s free agency had the potential to be one of next summer’s most interesting storylines with both Philadelphia and PG-13’s old friends in Indiana believed to be interested in pursuing him," reported Stein.

When looking at the exits that Philadelphia could face in the off-season, one of the biggest exits being Tobias Harris, George could fill in his position.

Harris is in the last year of his contract with Philadelphia, averaging 17.9 points, along with six rebounds.
